Why TimeCove is now "TimeCove: Voice Reminder Alarm"

TimeCove launched on Google Play a week ago. The honest number: zero downloads. This post is about the first response — rewriting the store listing — and the reasoning behind it, because "ASO" is usually discussed in vague terms and I'd rather show the work.

What the data said

Google Play search is where discovery starts for a no-audience app, and title plus short description carry most of the weight. The old title was TimeCove — Voice reminders. — brand first, keyword second. The competitor that owns this space ranks #1 for "voice reminder" with the exact-match title Voice Memo Reminder (50,000+ installs). My app wasn't in the top 30 for any of its target keywords.

What changed

What I expect

Title-matching takes one to two weeks of re-indexing to show movement. The rank tracker I built into my release console snapshots "voice reminder", "alarm reminder" and a few more every week — if the rewrite works, the movement will be visible there first. If it doesn't, that will be public too.
