How to set a voice reminder on Android (in Chinese or English)
Most reminder apps assume you are already looking at your phone, calm, with both hands free. The moments that actually need a reminder are the opposite: hands full, mid-task, thinking in your own words. Here is the workflow TimeCove was built around.
The whole flow
- Open TimeCove and speak. Say it the way you'd tell a person: "remind me to call mom at 6 pm", or in Chinese, "提醒我晚上六点给妈妈打电话". The app parses the time and the task from natural speech.
- Confirm the details. You see the parsed time and text before it saves — no black box, nothing gets scheduled that you didn't approve.
- Get alerted, acknowledge, done. At the set time a notification or exact alarm fires. The reminder only leaves your list when you acknowledge it — no silent disappearances.
Why voice beats typing here
Typing is fine when you are already in the app. But reminders are captured in motion — cooking, walking, switching between tasks. Speaking removes the friction at exactly the moment it is most expensive. That is the entire product thesis.
Languages
Speech is recognized in Chinese and English, and parsing works for both — switch freely inside one sentence if that is how you think. Speech recognition runs locally when the model is downloaded, so it works without a network.
TimeCove is free, on Google Play, and works offline for everything core.
